Thierry Mugler is definitely one of my favorite designers! The thing that impresses me most about his vintage collections is that 90% of the looks could fit right in with todays colletions, he was so fashion forward, so Avant Garde! I love it!! His shows were definitely pure entertainment...

Oh! and I cant forget the models. They were so confident, so strong, so much attitude, we need more of that today....

Ugh, I can't even express how much I love this man lol. I love everything he does and this collection is just something else to add to the list. The SHOES were amazing and new and fresh and unique...I just loved everything, the production as a whole was wonderful, brings a tear to my eye, fashion at its best...

"Nicolas Ghesquière-"I wanted to do something urban. No more history for the moment!" he said backstage at the Hôtel de Crillon, before sending out a collection that reclaimed the beat of street athleticism: the hoodie, skinny, vertically patchworked jeans; complex tanks; and sporty kilts. Take it as read that we're not looking at generics. Every silhouette, each garment, every extraordinary tubular-ankled, open-toed boot is an uncopyable meld of futuristic technique and art craftsmanship. The quality defines Ghesquière's Balenciaga as unique.

Take the "jeans." What looks, at a distance, as if it might be gray-blue denim is actually vegetable-dyed leather. The "hoodie" is engineered from molded leather, woven jersey, and nylon foam. The ankle sections of the boots are either hand-loomed fabric or a meltdown of blue, white, and green strips of leather, laser-compressed into a striated amalgam that looks, as Ghesquière joked, "like Play-Doh." (He likes a toy reference in a shoe.)

In the collage of elements, there were recycled fabrics and natural-looking hemp weaves, and a sidelong tribalism in the urban-warrior eye makeup and footwear. The street element had some of the flavor of the hit "student" collection of Fall 2007, and it will certainly give license to young women—and the vendors of fast fashion—to look at sweats and gym skirts in a whole new, highly commercial light. It's a sign of a designer's influence when his work is knocked off as fast as the mass market can run. But Ghesquière's métier is one that can't be simplistically rendered down.

His collection also involves infinite subtlety. It segued into chic coat-dresses—patched with streaks of lemon and green—against textured beige spiraled leather togas contrasted with painted suede. The show ended with minute but mind-bending latticework skirts that shivered like porcupine quills, flashing shots of green and maroon in movement. That kind of work can't be replicated anywhere else but in this house, and if there's still an argument for high fashion versus low, this is one of the strongest defenses that exists."

"In an unusual move to jump-start what has been a sluggish brand rejuvenation, Emanuel Ungaro has tapped an almost unknown chief designer — Estrella Archs — and an “artistic adviser” who is arguably too well-known — Lindsay Lohan.

The Spanish designer and the actress/singer/tabloid sensation are slated to present their first collection in Paris on Oct. 4, likely coming out together at the end of the runway for a bow.
Mounir Moufarrige, Ungaro’s chief executive officer, is already relishing the prospect of that image running in newspapers and on Web sites around the world, bringing a lightning bolt of attention — good, bad or otherwise — to a French brand that has severely lacked it as it endured a revolving door of designers and lackluster collections.
“Odds are it could work,” Moufarrige said, disclosing the appointments exclusively to WWD. “Everything we’re going to get is going to be a plus. I think the noise level around Lindsay will be very, very big.”
Indeed, a Google search for the star of “Mean Girls” and “Freaky Friday” yields more than 26 million results, versus only 1.3 million for Ungaro, a couture house founded in 1965 that has been wracked by instability in the design department since its founding couturier retired in 2004.
Last July, Ungaro said it would part ways with Bogotá, Colombia-born Esteban Cortazar, whose three collections for the house failed to ignite much commercial or press interest in the brand. As reported, the designer had reached an impasse with Ungaro management over its future marketing strategy, which would involve a celebrity face.
For her part, Lohan, 23, told WWD she hopes to take Ungaro to a “younger place” with a harder fashion edge.
“When I’m involved in a project, I give my all to it,” the controversial celebrity said. “I feel like there’s a correlation between everything I do, whether it’s pop music or film. I’ve always played a big part in what I wear, the costumes. Clothing is something that’s so expressive in so many ways. It really interests me.
“To be in a position where I’m working with a fashion house in Paris sets it apart from every other celebrity brand.”
Lohan said her first fur coat was an Ungaro, which she purchased about 10 years ago. She prized its leopard spots and a pale pink lining that gave it its je ne sais quoi.
When asked to describe her role in the creative process, Lohan said she “kind of oversees everything [Archs] does, while working with her. Different generations have different ideas.”
Archs, too, was up-front about potential discord, asking: “Have you ever met two women who agree completely about fashion?”

Lohan said Ungaro has stood for provocation and chic “since Day One,” descriptors to which she can certainly relate. “Every woman wants to be sexy — without being too much,” she said. “I want it to be simple and easy. I really think less is more — and you can add on more with accessories.”
Meanwhile, she took fashion to task for being too retro and me-too. “Everyone copies everyone. I don’t want it to be about that. The reason I love fashion is it’s ever-changing; there’s something new all the time.”
Moufarrige contended he had a choice of two strategies for Ungaro: Attempting to catapult the brand’s fortunes via a proven, superstar designer à la Tom Ford at enormous expense, or pursue a more radical route — teaming a chief designer and a fashion-obsessed, if volatile, celebrity. He contends the days of “designers in their ivory towers” are over, and the input of Lohan — the ultimate fashion girl — will lend a “consumer” voice to the mix that is vital today.
“Designer-led fashion is likely not to be enough. It’s a slow process going the traditional route,” he said, describing the need to give a designer several years to get under the skin of a house and, hopefully, get the business moving. “Not enough just doesn’t get you anywhere.”
What’s more, “Consumers today know what they want, and they have an eye as well,” the executive continued. “The consumer really is key today. They know what’s going on; they’re following the trends.”
The advent of celebrity fashion lines, some of which generate hundreds of millions of dollars in sales, proves celebrities capture the imagination of consumers and “designer-led brands have competition they didn’t have before,” Moufarrige said.
“My target consumer for Ungaro is the woman of perpetual 30, and I think the combination of these two girls will greatly contribute to burnishing a great name, which is Ungaro,” he added.
Seated in his sun-drenched office on the Avenue Montaigne, a breeze tinkling a chandelier overhead, Moufarrige acknowledged Lohan has a controversial image, given her stints in rehab, drunk-driving citations and a widely publicized love affair with Samantha Ronson. But he plunks down the September British Elle and Spanish Vogue’s August issue, which both feature Lohan on the cover and in fashion spreads inside, as testimony to her international stature and enduring fashion allure.
He also noted Lohan’s line of leggings, labeled 6126, are performing well at retail.
“The fashion industry thrives on controversy anyway,” he said, waving a hand as if to dispel doubts. “Emanuel Ungaro himself was very controversial. He always felt women had to dress to seduce. His first perfume he called Diva. It’s not an act of desperation to get a real diva involved. I like controversy.

“She does have an eye,” continued Moufarrige, a veteran executive at Compagnie Financière Richemont, who famously replaced Karl Lagerfeld with Stella McCartney, then age 25, as head designer of Chloé in 1997. “I like the way [Lohan] dresses. Her house [in Los Angeles] is a mini-department store. She changes outfits five times a day.”
Lohan signed a multiyear contract with Ungaro. Although financial terms were not disclosed, it calls for her to do trunk shows, make appearances and “be where the activities of the brand are,” according to Moufarrige.
One thing Lohan won’t do is appear in Ungaro advertising. “I’ve got a moving advertising campaign through Lindsay,” Moufarrige enthused. “She’s a super consumer, and it’s a new idea. She’s photographed thousands of times a week.”
Ungaro plans to eventually launch an attention-getting print campaign without Lohan, but the company plans to await reaction to the first show and to expand distribution before making significant investments.
As for Archs, 35, Moufarrige said he was attracted by her two-year-old signature collection, which she shows on the runway during Paris Fashion Week and sells to a handful of specialty stores in Europe and the Middle East. “She has a lot of fluidity and a lot of color, and it’s easy to wear,” he said. “She was spot-on in terms of the DNA of Ungaro.”
Archs first met Lohan at the end of June and said, “We get along really well. I think she’s fun. She has an eye for fashion. She’s very enthusiastic. She’s very much for the youth, for the sexiness.” The two women have subsequently met several times in Los Angeles, London and Paris to ready the spring-summer 2010 line.
Archs declined to give too many clues about the first collection, to be shown at the Carrousel du Louvre, saying only, “It’s not too much couture.”
Lohan and Archs will be charged with waking up a brand whose women’s ready-to-wear business is described by Moufarrige as “stagnant,” sold to only about 75 stores worldwide. “We should be at 300,” he asserted.
Indeed, the brand is a far cry from its peak in the late Nineties, when the bridge line Emanuel by Emanuel Ungaro, licensed to Italy’s GFT, generated some $170 million at wholesale. Launched in 1991, Emanuel was conceived for the U.S. market and was hailed as GFT’s most profitable division. "

MY TAKE:

Now, this is just the last straw for me! Sike no, but really, it is getting rediculous. Now, I was really getting tired of all these celebrities making their own clothing lines, knowing they don't really do anything and I was really upset recently when I found out that Sheree from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" was presenting at fashion week this year, but THIS takes the cake. You see the problem is that, people like me, work their butt off and do practically everything themselves just to get to Lauren Conrad, or Eve's status of just having a clothing line, whether its one of the most popular or not, and now days these chicks and dudes, are doing nothing but just BEING a celebrity and the way Lindsay says it "clothing really interests me" just liking clothing is all it takes for a celebrity to become a FASHION DESIGNER.

I just know that if I was a designer and my boss came to me saying I have to "work with" a celebrity who DIDN'T go to school, DOESN'T have any experience in the industry, DOESN'T even have a real apparent sense of fashion, AND is known for being a Wild, Drunk, young celebrity socialite, SERIOUSLY, I would quit if my job was on the line. I just feel like its selling out. How about you search the schools and fashion houses across the nations and find some real talent to work with and "wake up the brand". I for one would snatch that opportunity up in a milisecond!!

Trying to justify her fashion sense by noting her recent covers of British Elle and Spanish Vogue as "a testament to her international stature and enduring fashion allure" is a joke. They put her in the magazines because she's a celebrity, she's pretty, and she's contraversial, so many people will want to read about her. NOT because she has some fabulous sense of fashion. I mean, everything she wore in the photoshoots was put together by a stylist! All she had to do was pose and try to look pretty.

Now, these pictures are a REAL testament to her FABULOUS personal stye and "fashion allure"..........I KNOW, I KNOW, overwhelmingly amazing right??!!

I understand we're in a recession and everything, TRUST me, I understand, and designers and such are looking for ways to boost sales, but just throwing a celebrities name on it, a sucky one at that, is not the way to go, especially when we know they arn't actually doing anything. Lindsay even said herself she "KIND OF oversees everything Archs does" which in translation means, they meet, Archs shows her everything and Lindsay goes "Oh, I love it, I love everything, Its so perfect, Its so totally awesome!!" end of story.

I mean come on, really, the way these people went on about Lindsay like shes some sort of fashion goddess is just sick. Oh, and her "6126" line of leggings...yea, you guessed it....less than amazing...

This look was obviously created for Rihanna... The "hard and soft" look is something that I feel always works for her. I also decided to give her a few options of accessories :) Even two different pairs of shoes to choose from. This outfit can go from the street to the catwalk!!

My interpretation of the best outfit for Taylor Swift. She gives off such a sweet and innocent vibe and the soft colors and fabrics work best for her and her blonde hair and beautiful eyes. This look would be best for an awards show or any special event.

This is a perfect outfit for Teyana Taylor, she like Rihanna looks great in the "hard and soft" look. This outfit would be best for the streets of New York or a new video or photoshoot of hers, but seeing that she doesn't seem care what people think, she would quite possibly wear it anywhere she wants!!

This one would be for Alison Sudol of A Fine Frenzy. Something she could wear to an awards show or any sort of upscale event. I feel the jewel tones beautifully compliment her red hair and piercing eyes...

Now, Miley Cirus is someone I would luurrvve to dress, only because I feel I could turn her into a real icon. She NEEDS me lol. I feel this would be a perfect outfit for her to wear on the streets and be photographed by the poparazzi!! At her age and status, she needs the sophisticated, yet still young and cute appeal, which is achieved by the big red heart shirt, which keeps her young, and those Purple Pumps, which grow her up!!

Ok, so the time has come to give credit where credit is due!! Many people believe that these celebrities put together their own looks and outfits. Yes, there may be a day or two when they do it themselves, but that will usually be the day, they look a little off. And yes, there are some who actually do it themselves, some we can't say for sure but I do believe that people like Agyness Deyn and Solange Knowles pretty much do it themselves.

Now, having said this lets set the record straight and give credit to one of my favorite stylists Mariel Haenn, who styles none other than Rihanna. If you consider how Rihanna's image has been overhauled since she first burst on the scene, its apparent that she's had a LOT of help. Mariel also styles the likes of Jada Pinkett Smith, Ciara, Angela and Vanessa Simmons, Megan Good, and few others. So this half-Puerto Rican fashion expert knows a thing or two about how clothes create an image. “At first I thought I wanted to design clothes,” says Haenn, “but styling turned out to be more exciting. Ok ok, so I probably should'nt call them both queens since they are a couple...But anywho, I've recently discovered the two designers Justin Thornton and Thea Brigazzi of Preen. I came across some of their clothes and became an instant fan. They first met at the age of 18 and stuck together ever since... Oohh Love and Fashion, together as one :)
Their celebrity clientele include Kate Moss, Chloe Sevigny, Amy Winehouse, Thandi Newton, Lindsay Lohan, and Samantha Morton.

"Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi launched Preen in 1996, selling clothes inspired by iconic Britishisms like Victoriana and punk rock. One year later, they had a shop on Portobello Road, and in the years since, the London-based label has earned strong editorial coverage for its clean, fluid lines and slouchy-futuristic elegance. Well... I finally did it!! I've been considering creating a blog for about a year now, but hav'nt because I always said, "Oh, I'll never keep one up" BUT I decided to face my fears!! Arn't you glad!
Im pretty much talking to no one right now, because I probably won't tell anyone about this until its really up and running.

So, as I sit here watching "The Fifth Element" for the second time this week..Im just contemplating how NICE some of these costumes are, by Jean-Paul Gaultier I might add!! Im just thinking of all the fashionable and not so fashionable things I could write about.. OH I cant wait :) You're gonna love it, I promise.

Weelll, (I think I say that alot) I guess I'll call it quits for tonight, so stay tuned all my fashion lovers!!
